Tim started VanWingerden Real Estate Advisors with a vision to build a client-centric, relationship-driven sales firm with a no-nonsense approach to the investment services industry. He is actively leading and growing his team with a specific focus on advising private owners and developers of 10-200 units in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Prior to VWREA, Tim generated $185 million in sales volume at two of the nation's largest real estate investment sales firms, selling thousands of apartment units and development land.
Tim takes an active approach to every deal he works on and is personally involved with clients on valuation and strategy. He most enjoys navigating the sticking points of a deal and helping lead clients towards an agreement.



Ricky Knapp focuses on multifamily and development land throughout the Kentucky market. With a background in civil engineering, Ricky's understanding of construction, site feasibility, zoning, infrastructure, and the entitlement process supports clients navigating the early stages of their multifamily development projects.
Known for a strong work ethic, transparent communication, and a client-first approach, Ricky partners closely with investors, developers, and local owners to achieve successful outcomes in both the multifamily and development sectors.
Liz Popp brings over 13 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and has been involved in every facet of the deal process. She comes from a national brokerage firm and has trained and supported numerous agents who have launched their career, including Tim. At VWREA, Liz provides the structure and operational foundation that allows our team to focus on selling deals. Liz is passionate about building repeatable, efficient systems and is known for her meticulous attention to detail.
